At times in our massage therapy practices we are faced with ethical dilemmas. By learning to set clear professional boundaries and developing ethical communication skills not only can we as massage therapists navigate these problematic areas of our practice but we can also reduce their occurrences.In order to sustain an ethical and successful massage therapy practice communication skills need to be developed, practiced and utilized.Together we will explore a deeper understanding of both the nature and development of communication in human beings by looking at the functions and parameters of the therapeutic relationship, the human nervous system, and some of the most common ethical issues that massage therapists face in their profession. This four hour workshop looks at therapist/client communication through the lens of creating an ethical environment through understanding and implementing healthy and ethical boundaries.This workshop is focused on and looks specifically at some of the most common ethical issues that arise in the world of massage therapy and presents helpful concepts to support the professional standards of an ethical and healthy massage therapy practice.Join Jonathan C. Students will be provided a detailed handout, a set of self reflection questions, and be asked to complete a written quiz that will support the lecture and the prerecorded video presentation. By using a message board, e-mail,and completing the written aspects of this workshop you will be able to receive full in person ethics credits for taking this workshop.
